IAIN Cirebon Initiates Global Steps: Innovative Collaboration with ICCCM Malaysia towards an International Campus
Cirebon, January 19, 2024– International Office of IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon continues to solidify its position as a global educational institution by exploring collaborative partnerships with the International Cultural Communication Center Malaysia (ICCCM). A virtual meeting between the two parties yielded productive discussions that have the potential to positively impact education and culture. This occurred on Friday, January 19th, 2024.
The online audience involved the Director of the International Office, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Vice Rector III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Hajam M.Ag, along with several deans, vice deans, and faculty members from IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. ICCCM representatives, represented by Mr. Ivan Habibilah as the Project Management Officer, also participated in the meeting.
During the session, IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon expressed its intention for collaborative cooperation supported by ICCCM, aligning with its vision to become a global campus. Prof. Dr. Hajam, in his address, expressed hope that this collaboration would benefit both parties in the context of international cooperation.
Project Management Officer Ivan Habibilah welcomed the collaborative initiative with IAIN Cirebon. ICCCM, a part of the International Transnational Education Association (ITEA), expressed readiness to contribute to bridging educational and cultural collaborations across 42 countries.
Director of the International Office, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., outlined the internationalization plans of IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. She emphasized that collaboration with ICCCM represents a positive step in supporting IAIN Cirebon's journey towards becoming a competitively positioned Islamic university on the international stage.
In this meeting, ICCCM also directed IAIN Cirebon to explore international collaborative partnerships with ITEA in an implementable and sustainable manner. As a facilitator, ICCCM can assist in developing collaborative programs through various training opportunities for students towards partner universities. Additionally, ICCCM offers support in soft skills development, curriculum enhancement, scholarships, international mobility programs, double degree programs with partner universities (Transnational Education Partnership), and Benchmarking Visits.
As a follow-up step, IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon and ICCCM plan to sign a cooperation agreement document in the fields of education and culture. This initiative is expected to enhance IAIN Cirebon's reputation as a quality global university in the future.
